At the end of 2008, in the context of the creation of the European Programme “Non State Actors – Local Authorities”, the AFCCRE decided to create a “Europe, Cooperation and Development” Committee.

An information and consultation arena meant to favor exchange of experience, this Committee allowed the AFCCRE members to be associated to the association’s work within PLATFORMA and to better understand the programmes for which the French municipalities are eligible.

Moreover, while it appears today that the revision process of the external action instruments of the EU will not entail major changes in the Community aid architecture for the 2014-2020 period, the AFCCRE wanted to emphasize the best practices of its members in terms of development cooperation projects with Community co-financing in the framework of the programmes created for the 2007-2013 period.  

So, in order to share experiences, the AFCCRE decided to publish a guide of concrete examples of projects implemented by its members with European financial support. Foreseen for the first semester of 2013, this publication will also offer the occasion to evaluate the advancement of negotiations on the future of the European development policy.
