In May 2013 Kampala (Uganda) will host the 7^th Commonwealth Local Government Conference dubbed ‘Developmental local government: Putting local government at the heart of development’. The conference will bring together senior local and central government policy makers, academics and many development agencies such as UNDP. It will discuss the role of local governments in the post 2015 sustainable development goals agenda.

Run by the Commonwealth Local Government Forum, the conference will take place in Kampala from 14-17 May 2013, and will be hosted by the Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of Local Government, in cooperation with the Uganda Local Governments Association. Its outcomes will be reported to the Commonwealth Heads of Government when they meet in Sri Lanka later in 2013.
