The Agenda URBsociAL Bogota 2012 sets the pace for social cohesion and inclusive development

The Mayor of Bogota, the Municipality of San Jose (Costa Rica), UNDP-Art and the Lempa River Tri-national Border Association (Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador) have already endorsed the Agenda Bogota 2012.

The Agenda is the result of the third edition of the Euro-Latin American Dialogue on Social Cohesion and Local Public Policy, URBsociAL. While the first edition put the emphasis on the need for more public policy and the second on innovation as a basic tool for moving towards greater social cohesion, URBsociAL 2012 promotes the necessity to establish long term development strategies.

It sets the pace for social cohesion and recalls the key role of local governments in facilitating inclusive development processes. The declaration puts forward findings, recommendations and commitments to encourage and facilitate social cohesion in local public policies and development processes.

The Agenda is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.

URBsociAL is a forum for public and private actors committed to strengthening social cohesion at the sub-national level in Latin America and to promote a strategic agenda.
