The European Commission (EC) has published the guidelines of the Development education and awareness raising (DEAR) call for proposals. Deadline for submission of concept note is 30 January 2014, 16.00.

Local and regional authorities are eligible under lot 5, as applicant, and under lot 1, 2, 3 and 4 as co-applicant.

Lot 5: Global learning and campaigning and advocacy projects led by a local/regional authority or association thereof

The amount of the EU grant will fall between 1 000 000 and 5 000 000 euro. This amount cannot exceed 85% of the total budget of the action for applicants from a State member of the EU before 2004. For applicants from a State member of the EU since 2004, this amount cannot exceed 95% of the budget of the action.

Three types of project can be funded:

- global learning project within the formal education system;

- global learning project outside the formal education system;

- campaigning and advocacy projects.

Activities must be implemented in a minimum of six EU Member States. More information on the Call for proposal on PLATFORMA website.
