AFCCRE conference on “Development cooperation public policies: Can they provide solutions to the challenges we face in our territories?”In the context of the European Year for Development, the AFCCRE is organising, on the 19th of May 2015, in collaboration with the regional council Centre-Val de Loire, the regional network Centraider and the French National Centre of Territorial Public service, and with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD), a European conference in Orleans (France), on how development cooperation public policies can provide solutions to the challenges we face in our territories.
The aim of this one-day event will be to capitalise on the experience of local authorities and to construct a collective argumentation to better identify and develop the positive impacts of development cooperation public policies in our territories, particularly among citizens.
The spirit of this conference reflects the current European and national context which is marked by the pressures on public finances – particularly at the local level –, territorial governance reforms and political instability, notably due to rising political extremes.
The conference is aimed at European local and regional elected representatives and officers in charge of development cooperation programs and policies.
