Are you ready for tomorrow?
Migration, territorial reforms, climate change, local finances: these are a few of today’s challenges faced by European cities, towns and regions. At the same time, mayors and local elected representatives must anticipate and adapt to changes in a constantly evolving society. But the question is, are they ready for tomorrow?
To help them respond to these challenges, the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and PLATFORMA invite you to join hundreds of local and regional elected representatives from across the continent and beyond, to the CEMR 2016 Congress in Nicosia (Cyprus).
The Congress will take place from 20 to 22 April 2016 and will be held under the motto “Tomorrow starts today! A Local & Regional Vision of Europe 2030”. 30 sessions will cover a broad range of challenges and opportunities for Europe and its local governments. Among those, PLATFORMA will organise the following sessions:
- No decentralised cooperation without citizens’ empowerment! How to take on board civil society?
- Facing conflicts consequences in the Southern Neighbourhood: the role of towns and regions.
