Member States reaffirm their commitment to meet aid target

Despite the crisis that is seriously hitting the EU, the 27 Member States reaffirmed their individual and collective commitment to Official Development Assistance while addressing development issues at the Foreign Affairs Council of May 14th. In the Council conclusions, Member States who have not yet reached their 2010 target are called upon to deploy necessary additional efforts to increase aid spending to 0.7% of GNI by 2015. In addtion Member States call on other international donors to raise aid spending as well to match EU level of ambition. Read the Council conclusions.
