Mayor Hans Janssen (Netherlands) has been appointed as rapporteur for the Committee of the Regions (CoR), and will draft the CoR opinion on the Communication “Local authorities in development cooperation”. An outline of the opinion will be discussed in the CIVEX Committee meeting of the CoR on 22 April and the adoption of the Opinion is scheduled for the CoR meeting on 3-4 July 2013.

In the drafting of the opinion, Mayor Hans Janssen will be supported by Arthur Wiggers, Deputy Director of VNG International. They will make use of the contribution already submitted by PLATFORMA in response to the issue paper of the Commission. Other suggestions and contributions are welcome at arthur.wiggers@vng.nl before 8 April.
