The world at a glance

The ARLEM (Assembly of Euro-Mediterranean regions and local authorities) Bureau held its meeting at the UpM offices. On this occasion, Francisco de la Torre Prados, Mayor of Malaga and CEMR representative, member of the ARLEM Bureau, called for the creation of synergies between the debates held at the Assembly and the political advocacy carried out by PLATFORMA. In the framework of the discussions on the means of reinforcing the role of women in the Mediterranean, he also pleaded in favour of the promotion of the European charter for equality of women and men in local life and of the Observatory of the charter, a project carried out by the CEMR with the support of the Swedish government and local government association.
