Local and regional governments paving the way towards a global citizenshipThe PLATFORMA workshop on “Citizen in Europe – Citizen in the world” looks at the interdependence of peoples and problems in today’s globalized world and will discuss with multi-level representatives how adequate a tool decentralised cooperation is as a response to this situation.
In order to discuss and exchange about the role of European citizens in development cooperation, the session will gather representatives from local and regional governments and civil society organisations, European officials, practitioners and other relevant actors in Europe.
It will likewise be the opportunity to capitalise on the experiences of the PLATFORMA “Dialogue and Capacity Building of Local and Regional Authorities in the Partner Countries in the Fields of Development” project and will feature interventions by many of our partners: namely CLGF, FEMP, AFCCRE, DIBA and UCLG.
The PLATFORMA workshop is organised as part of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions conference "Citizen in my city - Citizen in Europe", which will take place the 15th and 16th of December in Rome (Italy) and bring together over 300 representatives of local and regional governments and of civil society organisations.
