Initiative worth following

On the 3^rd and 4^th of June, Brussels (Belgium) will host for the third time the European Development Days: under this flagship initiative of the European Year for Development, the European Commission showcases the ways in which Member States, the Commission, local and regional governments and citizens are contributing to the eradication of poverty and the promotion of human rights.

PLATFORMA and several members will participate in this exciting event: among the topics covered, PLATFORMA will co-organise a high panel on gender to underline the key role of local governments in ending gender inequalities by 2030 (3^rd of June, 2pm - 3.30pm). PLATFORMA will also participate in two project labs, in order to provide examples of good practices of local and regional governments, on gender (3^rd of June, 4.15pm – 5.30pm) and urban issues (3^rd of June, 6pm – 7.15pm).

The panel and project lab on gender are co-organised with UN Women, DG DEVCO and the CEMR Observatory on Gender Equality. The project lab on urban issues is co-organised with the Province of Barcelona, the Committee of the Regions and UCLG, among others.
