Trends of the month !

Foreign Affairs and development Ministers finally came to an understanding on the 11th EDF (European Development Fund) and Member States’ contributions, at the EU Foreign Affairs Council, on 27-28 May. The budget for the next six years will be of 30.5 billions, just over what Herman Von Rompuy proposed in November 2012 but still less than the 34 billions initially proposed by the European Commission. As per local and regional governments, they have engaged into various and stimulating debates such as development education, human rights, migrations or new partnerships in decentralised cooperation during the past month, and this is without mentioning the ongoing debate on the post-2015 which will not end before another two years. However what we will remain is the adoption of the Communication on local and regional authorities in partner countries!
