Good news for decentralised cooperation!

By means of a resolution on the post-2015 development framework, approved the 25th of November, the European Parliament called for the recognition and reinforcement of decentralised public aid. The Parliament has certainly recognised the external action of local and regional governments for over seven years – since the adoption of a resolution led by Pierre Schapira in 2007 – but, in light of the discussion being launched on the means of implementing the new post-2015 framework, and pending the December 12th Council Conclusions on the subject, it is a positive sign to all representatives, territorial officials and technicians who believe and engage in cooperation. This good news is accompanied by another; namely that the process for the programing of the 2014 – 2017 period have been completed. The multiannual indicative programmes and the annual action plans for the bilateral, regional and thematic programmes have been adopted or are about to be, which in English means that the funds will soon be released and that calls for proposals will finally be published. More information will shortly be available on our website; in the meantime, we invite you to promptly visit our new section – the weekly press review – and which can be accessed from the news /events section!
