YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT DECENTRALISED COOPERATION

Therefore, this monthly newsletter will tell you about how the cooperation at the local, regional and city level can foster development by reducing gender inequality, implementing the New Urban Agenda at the local level, and by reinforcing regional cooperation with Eastern Partnership countries, among others.

This month of June was exceptionally rich in diverse events taking place all across the globe: Brussels welcomed the Assises of Decentralised Cooperation and the European Development Days; Gaborone was the place to be for the 2015 Commonwealth Local Government Forum; UCLG held its executive meeting in Porto Alegre; and PLATFORMA organised a conference on the European Neighbourhood Policy in Riga.

Finally, all eyes are now on the Third International Conference on Financing for Development where the discussions will hopefully focus on the solutions and funding mechanisms available at the local and regional level which will make the SDGs a reality.
