Joint SIG & EECC Event

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION:

1st joint EECC-SIG session

 

 

Building on the success of the EECC “Winter Olympics” we would like to extend the activities of the young EURAM community. To do so, a new format has been developed, which brings together the EECC activities with the SIG activities. We are thus pleased to announce the first joint EECC-SIG session during the annual conference in Warsaw in 2015.

 

 

What are the objectives of this new format?

·         It offers a platform for early career academics from a particular research community:

o   to get to know “your” SIG or to figure out what it is that other SIGs are working on

o   to get career- and research-related insights from peers and senior researchers from your particular research community

 

 

Why to join?

•       get to know early career academics as well as senior scholars from your research community

•       get inspiration and fresh ideas for your future research

•       discuss possibilities for joint research projects, grants applications, papers etc. among researchers in your community

 

 

When will it take place?

EURAM conference in Warsaw (17 – 20 June, 2015); the session will last approx. 3 hours (day to be announced)

 

 

How to join?

Please submit your application* by January, 31st 2015 to the SIG-EECC coordinator of the SIG you are a member or which fits best your research interests. Here is the list of participating SIGs:

* The “5 x 5 sentences” application. Please send 5 sentences for each of the following five topics to the corresponding SIG-EECC coordinator:

a) who are you, b) what is your research topic, c) why would you like to participate in the session, d) what do you expect from the session, e) what is it that you are particular good in (e.g. methods, literature review, presentation etc.).

About EECC

The aim of the EECC is to offer a platform for early career academics (broadly defined e.g. assistant professors, Post-doctoral researchers, recently appointed lecturers/associate professors, advanced PhD students) to come together to discuss key challenges, learn from experts and share career related insights. The EECC provides a forum for networking, knowledge exchange and development of research collaborations.
